HILL BROW FIRE PROCEDURE

 

IF YOU DISCOVER A FIRE

 

  1. SOUND THE FIRE ALARM => Doors will close automatically. Let other staff know through the walkie talkie system.
  2. REMOVE PEOPLE FROM IMMEDIATE DANGER INTO A PROTECTED AREA i.e.  Away from fire behind a fire door.
  3. CALL FIRE BRIGADE and MANAGEMENT ON CALL
  4. CLOSE DOORS AROUND FIRE AREA
  5. ESCORT ALL RESIDENTS TO ASSEMBLY POINT – FURTHEST LOUNGE FROM FIRE
  6. TAKE A ROLL CALL CHECKING ALL RESIDENTS ARE PRESENTTHEN ESCORT THEM TO A SAFE AREA

IF YOU HEAR THE FIRE ALARM OR GOES OFF SUDDENLY

 

  1. ONE MEMBER OF STAFF TO CALL FIRE BRIGADE, SENIOR IN CHARGE TO CHECK ZONE (TAKE WALKIE TALKIE TO COMMUNICATE WITH OTHER STAFF
  2. SILENCE THE ALARM ONCE YOU HAVE CHECKED THE ZONE, INFORM FIRE BRIGADE IF NO FIRE
  3. CALL MANAGER ON CALL
  4. REMOVE PEOPLE FROM IMMEDIATE DANGER INTO PROTECTED AREA i.e.  Away from fire behind a fire door
  5. CLOSE DOORS AROUND FIRE AREA
  6. ESCORT RESIDENTS TO ASSEMBLY POINT – FURTHEST LOUNGE AWAY FROM FIRE
  7. TAKE  A ROLL CALL AND LOOK IN VISITORS BOOK, CHECKING ALL RESIDENTS AND VISITORS ARE PRESENT
  8. CLOSE ALL DOORS AFTER PASSING THROUGH THEM
  9. IF AFTER ALL YOUR CHECKS THERE IS NOT A FIRE THEN THE FIRE PANEL MUST BE RE-SET

HOW TO FIND FIRE

 

  1. INDICATOR ON FIRE CONTROL PANEL
  2. HEAT DETECTORS & SMOKE DETECTORS IN, Corridors, Lounges, DiningRoom, Some Bedrooms, Kitchen & Utility Room, they have small red indicator lights showing which detector activates the bells.
