In April we celebrated a number of different days and events along with all our usual activities.
On April 8th the Kai Huffman Duo visited the home to sing and perform to all our residents. They were fantastic and everyone had a good time.
Friday April 11th was a busy day with a special Easter Church Service in the morning, taken by Tara our local Vicar from Crondall. In the evening we held our Charity Quiz night with over 60 residents, members of staff and relatives taking part. It was a great evening of fun which everyone enjoyed and we raised £430 for our Families Supporting Care Charity!
During the week leading up to Easter some of our residents worked very hard making Easter Bonnets. Their work was fantastic and very colourful. On Good Friday we held a competition to judge the best & most colourful bonnet, this was followed by a delightful afternoon tea.
All the staff worked hard Easter Sunday to produce a special Easter celebration lunch.
Tuesday 22nd April was World Earth Day! Our residents enjoyed gardening and planting out sowing seeds for summer vegetables.
On Wednesday 23rd was St Georges Day, we celebrated this day with a special Gala Evening Supper! Our main lounge was transformed into a large dining room to accommodate all our residents and guests who joined in the celebrations! We started with pre supper drinks, then we had a group of Singing & Dancing Children to entertain us! Supper then started in a well decorated room accompanied by a pianist playing in the background . Our residents enjoyed dressing up for the occasion and had a very enjoyable evening.
On Wednesday 30th April our residents enjoyed one of their favourite trips to visit the Blue Bell Woods in Ellisfield in Hampshire. This year the Blue Bells were a fantastic carpet of Blue!
