In July residents enjoyed a variety of our regular activities and trips out! Shopping and visits to the pub. Hill house main theme for July was a celebration of world travel and culture. In the first week we celebrated America and its culture with a rock n roll tea dance which got residents up and dancing, afterwards residents enjoyed tea & Donuts! On the 18th of July we travelled to Greece with the homes staff dressing up in traditional Greek costume and being entertained by Greek singer Orpheus Papfillppou who sang and played the violin which was fantastic. During the performance residents enjoyed a choice of teas and Greek cakes! Nepalese week was celebrated on the 25TH July, residents enjoyed an afternoon’s entertainment of Nepalese singing and dancing. Several members of our staff and their families put on a wonderful display all dressed up in their traditional national dress. Residents were served a selection of different Nepalese food & Teas. In our last week we came back home to Briton and celebrated everything good about living in Briton. Our residents enjoyed a wonderful traditional afternoon tea and a sing-along of old favourite songs.
During our month of world travel residents enjoyed reminiscing on their travels and discussing favourite places visited. We also themed our word search and Quiz towards travel with capitals and countries being featured.
On the 25th of July Woodlands in Fleet hoisted residents, relatives and staff for one of our regular Quiz nights. Over 60 people joined in and enjoyed the evening. Finally on the 30th of July Barbara Raymond who is a wonderful singer for the brain, performed for our residents. Barbara always manages to get everyone singing along and joining in, which is fantastic to see!!
