October was another busy, fun and varied month of Activities for our residents. These are just some of the activities we put on at Hill House for our residents.
5th Sunday Harvest Time Celebration – Vicar Tara from Crondall Parish came to Hill House with a group from the Parish to celebrate Harvest. They brought Harvest products to show our residents. All joined in songs of praise, prayers and poems, it was a very enjoyable afternoon.
17th October Hill House celebrated Pink Day – In aid of Breast Cancer. Staff and residents dressed in pink on the day. In the afternoon we had Jonti Duo singing for us and getting everyone singing and getting on the floor dancing to their lively music. A fantastic and happy atmosphere that all enjoyed and wish to repeat again. Cakes and donations were given to raise £100 for such a good cause.
27th October we held a our Charity Quiz Night at at our Hill Brow Home and some of our Hill House residents and staff joined in the Quiz Night which is always a fun evening and very enjoyable and helped raise £400 for our Charity Families Supporting Care.
28th October some of our residents at Hill House and Hill Brow enjoyed a morning outing to Redfields Garden Centre, the sun was shining for our residents. All loved the walk around looking at the various Christmas Gifts and after we enjoyed a cup of Tea at their Café. We all had a lovely time.
29th October we had an outing to Tweseldown Pub, a group of residents and relatives had a morning of fun with a visit to the local pub, its a nice way to chat and socialise with each other. In the afternoon back at Hill House we had Barbara Rayner “Singing for the Brain” a fun afternoon with all 3 homes joining in the singing and because it was close to the Halloween, Barbara sang some spooky songs! The residents thought this was funny and it was enjoyed by all.
31st October Hill House celebrated Halloween, we had dressed the home earlier that week with spooky, fun decorations. To the lead up to Halloween the residents also took part in Pumpkin Carving a Quiz and discussion where we all spoke about the meaning of Halloween and why so many people have taken to celebrate this Pagan event. Staff had dressed up on this day and we had an afternoon of Trick or Treat. Some of our staffs and residents families younger members joined us, we exchanged sweets and had a singalong!
Along with these events our many other activities took place in the Home which all our residents enjoy very much which include, Flower Arranging, Giant Crossword, Balloon Bounce, word search, arts & crafts, weekly sing-alongs, Reminisce, News Chats, Exercises and many more.
