Our residents enjoyed another varied programme of activities and trips. This month we celebrated Easter and St George’s Day.
April’s activities kicked off with one of our regular slots of ‘Singing for the Brain’ with Barbara Raynor on 1st April.
On the 3rd we celebrated Good Friday with an Easter Bonnet Parade and Afternoon Tea. Some of the bonnets were colourful and beautiful, which made the judging quite hard.
On 8th of April our two new resident cats Muffin and Mug moved in. Now they seem to have settled and enjoy a cuddle and a stroke from residents and staff.
Jane our beautician came back from maternity leave on the 9th, pampering our residents to lots of different treatments.
Residents enjoyed a trip out for a pre-lunch drink at the Tweseldown pub on 15th. It is lovely to see how much our residents enjoy these trips.
Earth Day was celebrated on 22nd. Our residents enjoyed a trip out to Redfields Garden Centre and bought and potted up some wonderful plants for the Home, which are on display in the lounge.
St George’s Day was celebrated on 23rd with a St George themed history quiz and Afternoon Tea Party.
Our first trip out to see the Bluebell Wood in Ellisfield was on 27th. It was lovely to see the wonderful Bluebell displays. As a bonus we also caught sight of some fallow deer as well.
To round off the month we held one of our recurrent Charity Quiz Nights, which was fun and well attended by staff, residents and their families. We raised over £300 for our Charity Family Supporting Care, so THANK YOU for everyone’s support!
