This month’s theme was “Traditional British Summer holidays” which was very apt considering the fantastic summer we have enjoyed so far.HIll House downloaded 24 June 15 274

On Wednesday the 1st the residents enjoyed a trip out to Frensham Pond Hotel. It was a beautiful sunny day, our residents enjoyed sitting under the trees, enjoying a coffee and biscuits while taking in the serenity of the pond. During the 1st and 2nd week of July our residents enjoyed the tennis at Wimbledon. Over the course of the two week tournament, we served afternoon tea with strawberries and cream. Before play began we all learnt about Wimbledon’s history learning about its inaugural champion Spencer Cone. We also arranged Wimbledon themed quiz’s.

On Friday the 10th, residents enjoyed a trip out to Fleet for shopping and a visit to their favourite café for tea and cake. In the afternoon Vicar Tara led us in worship with a cheery service. That afternoon we also celebrated Jean Wilson’s Birthday , with a delicious cake, sing a long and dance to music of the 1940’s and 50’s.

On Wednesday 15th we enjoyed reminiscing about seaside holidays and the good times residents had enjoyed. Residents enjoyed looking at big images of places they used to visit, and we all enjoyed our quiz based around the British Seaside. Everyone enjoyed a fab afternoon tea after the quiz.

On Thursday the 17th residents enjoyed a trip out to the Tweseldown Pub in Fleet. Residents enjoyed a get together over drinks. That afternoon we celebrated two of our own residents Birthday’s with drinks and afternoon tea, as usual the cake was delicious.DSC09662

An afternoon of variety was enjoyed by residents, being entertained by Tony, with his array of different songs and impressions. The residents favourite  was singing along to “Ernie the fastest milkman in the west”DSC00158DSC00172

On Thursday the 30th, residents relatives and staff all joined together for a quiz night in support of our charity “Families Supporting Care”. This helped to raise £420 but more importantly everyone had a fun night.

Finally on Friday 31st residents enjoyed a trip out to Redfields Garden Centre. We always enjoy a look around the flowers and its nice to finish off our Traditional British Summer Holiday month with some yummy cake with a traditional British Cup Of Tea!
