The wonderful weather continued as August began, so we were still to have a lot of our activities outside.
The first outings in August, one of our favorites, was a visit to the Wyvern Pub in Church Crookham, on the morning of Friday 3rd August. We met up with some of our friends from Woodlands for coffee and cold drinks.
Maud can’t wait to get out the taxi and into the pub.

In the afternoon of Friday 3rd August, we were treated to a wonderful display of traditional dancing by the Nepalese members of staff. Their national dresses were stunning, as these photographs will testify and the whole afternoon was a delight. Each dance was met with appreciative applause all round.
Our virtual world cruise continued at the beginning of the first week in August. As we sailed towards Italy with a word search and Italian quiz on Monday 6th August. We docked at Civitavecchia, Rome’s port, on Friday.
On Tuesday 7th August we had two tables of dominos and players on the go. Dominoes is very sociable and so is becoming very popular with many of the residents and staff.
A visit to Badshot Lea garden centre was the order of the morning on Friday 10th August

On the afternoon of Friday 10th August, we were entertained by Aglika, singing Italian songs, along with other songs and arias to celebrate our arrival in Italy on our virtual cruise. It was a stunning performance, with her voice resonating throughout the building. She was met by thunderous applause and cries for encores.

The rest of the months activities consisted of our normal events, most of them held outdoors as the wonderful weather continued. There was the sing along songs, table games and our weekly outside visits to the Wyvern and Crondall Village Hall for afternoon tea.
The inevitable giant crossword and quizzes are still one of the firm favorites.
