We started the special events this month with fireworks and fun on Friday 2nd November. A lovely buffet was provided by our wonderful kitchen staff with hot dogs thrown in. There were many oohs and aahs from the many children there while the residents had a grand view from the windows.
In the rest of early November we enjoyed our usual activities such as balloon bouncing, giant crosswords, musical bingo etc. The ladies in the garden view really enjoyed getting stuck into arts and crafts on Wednesday 7th of November.
On Friday 9th November we remembered the sacrifices made by everyone who died in wars with a minutes silence at 3 o’clock. We had Phil come along to play his many instruments to which we sang lots of war time songs with great gusto.
On Saturday 17th November, Gracie the PAT dog came to visit us again. She is a lovely placid dog and all the residents love her and thoroughly enjoy her company.
On Wednesday 21st November the Crondall ‘Sing for Fun’ group came to entertain us with old time songs and everybody joined in with good voice and a little dancing.
We had an outing in the afternoon of Thursday 22nd November to a tea dance at the Robert Mays School. We took four residents and their carers to this bi-annual event. We were looked after with tea, sandwiches, a little sherry and musical entertainment and it was all very enjoyable.
There was a special treat on the morning of Thursday 22nd November when Alison brought in two newly acquired baby pygmy goats to introduce to the residents. Everyone was enthralled by these beautiful cuddly creatures which brought great delight to everyone.
On Friday 23rd November we had one of our favourite singers come to perform for us and had a rip roaring time singing and dancing to all the popular tunes.
In the final week of November the arts and crafts sessions were busy preparing Christmas decorations
and on Friday 30th November the Christmas tree went up and was decorated.
Finally on Friday 30th November we were pleased to welcome Mike Barley back again for another round of songs.
And so to December the month of joy and celebration
