FROSTY FEBRUARY
The new month started off with an exciting afternoon when Keith Turner came to sing to us on the afternoon of Friday 1st February. This was his first visit and he had a fine repertoire of music and songs. It certainly got people singing and dancing.
Monday 4 Feb we had one of our weekly trips to our local pub They Wyvern, they are always very welcoming.
On Wednesday 6th February residents got busy making Valentines cards ready for Valentine’s day.
On the Friday 8th February we brought the pub to the home once again with cake, sherry and wine.
On Saturday 9th February Gracie the pat dog came to see us again and she was very welcome as usual visiting all around the home.
On Sunday 10th February, ‘Chaos’, the reception dog received a surprise visit from Henry, a visiting family’s dog but there is no rumour of a relationship developing.
Tuesday the 12th we had full morning with balloon bounce, followed by Finish that Song quiz and a giant crossword!
On Thursday 14th February we celebrated St. Valentines day with sherry and cakes which helped to put love into the air.
That afternoon we had a return recital from classical singer, Aglika who gave wonderful renderings of romantic songs to belatedly celebrate St Valentine’s day. Everybody was enthralled at her beautiful performances.
We had a wonderful visit from some infants from the ‘Child wonder’ group in Ewshot in the morning of 18th February. It included children as young as 18 months and they mixed so well with the residents who were absolutely delighted.
And in the afternoon we enjoyed our weekly outing, this time to Bagshot Lea with our friends from Woodlands and Hill Brow.
It was time for the annual visit from the ‘birdman’ who came on Wednesday 20th February when he came to give us a talk and introductions to 3 of his birds of prey.
The big event on Friday 22nd was when Anu Singh Saru once again delighted us all with her wonderful dancing performance beautifully dressed in Nepalese national dress she made herself.
26th we celebrated Doreen Da Silva’s Birthday, along with her lovely friends and family after which we did board games and puzzles.
Preparations for St David’s Day was well underway on the 27th With Arts and Crafts while listening to Tom Jones
