The Theme for this month has been Back to School, so for our Art Clubs throughout the month we have done lots of related projects. These have given us plenty of enjoyment talking about some of the things we did when we were at school.

Monday the 2nd we had ball games in the morning and Board games. It is a good chance to chat and enjoy each other’s company.

The Cooking Club made and colourfully decorated some delicious chocolate treats for us all to enjoyed with a cuppa, on Tuesday.

Starting in the Back to School theme, on Wednesday the 4th we used chalk as the medium for our Art Class.

There has still been plenty of chance to get out and about in the gardens and on trips this September.

The Grey Hounds Rescue Centre came in on Thursday to talk to us about the important work they do and we had a chance to pat these friendly dogs too.

Friday the 6th our friends from Woodlands and Farnham Mill joined us to watch the bubbly Natasha put on an energetic show for us.

Monday the 9th our exercise routine chosen for this morning was balloon bounce. This always brings out a few giggles.

In the afternoon we played musical bingo along with the carers.

In preparation for the World Cup Rugby we made Union Jack Flags on Wednesday the 11th. Come on England!

Our very own Louis came up from Farnham Mill to play the piano for us on Thursday the 12th. He is very talented and gets us all singing along.

We had a trip out the Redfield’s Gardens Centre on Friday the 13th. After a leisurely walk around the wares, we settled down to a cup of tea and a cake in their beautiful café.

In the afternoon the Magical Natalia put on a fantastic Magic show in the main lounge.

With Autumn and Harvest Festival on the horizon and keeping in the back to school theme we did some leaf rubbing and Autumn colouring on the 18th.

After a trip to the Wyvern for a pint and crisps. Gareth sang for us in the afternoon. He is one of our favourite crooners.

We tried something new on Monday the 23rd. We made Corn Dolls, these little beauties are made from dried corn stalks and leaves and looked really lovely when done.

In the afternoon we had our instruments out, which was good fun, for our music and movement session.

Tuesday the 24th, we prepared our display table with all things Autumn. This tables theme changes every month and is a very tactile, talking point for residents their visiting friends and family.

In the afternoon on Wednesday, Memory Lane singer, the talented Paul Tickner played the guitar and the banjo.

On Thursday – Our Gardening Club decided that everyone’s indoor plants needed a bit of TLC so they were brought into the lounge and given a good tidy up and or repotting.

Every week we have beautiful, fragrant fresh flowers delivered to the home. Some of talented ladies arrange them for us and they are then placed around the home.

On Friday the 27th we had a boat trip on the Basingstoke Canal. The weather was warm but a little damp but it didn’t stop us enjoying a picnic lunch and the scenery.
