April arrives along with the Sunshine at Hill House

We have had a busy April at Hill House with lots going on, including trips out in the sunshine, arts crafts and Easter celebrations and entertainment galore!

Monday the 1st of April started with exercises and a quiz in the morning and Andrew Ellison visited and played the Cello beautifully.

On the 2nd we enjoyed balloon bounce with noodles, which is great fun all around the home.

In the afternoon we had some new residents join us for our Dominoes Club meeting.

The 3rd, we started our Easter preparations with some colourful arts and crafts. Getting things ready to brighten up our table display. After lunch everyone joined in for word search.

On Friday Lisa from Pets as Therapy went around the whole home with Gracie, who always brings a smile to the residents and staff.

In the afternoon Stacey sang beautifully for us. Our friends from Hill Brow and Woodlands joined us for a sing a long.

In the afternoon of the 10th everyone’s Easter Bonnets were finally finished and ready for judging by Alison. The variety and colours were fabulous.

Thursday the 11th of April, we had an outing to the Plume and Feathers Pub. Some of the residents wanted to sit outside as the sun was out and starting to get warmer.

More Easter preparation’s we underway on the 12th with Egg

One of our regular entertainers came in the afternoon of the 12th. Gareth gets everyone joining in either singing or up and dancing.

It was time for the Easter bonnet judging on the 16th. Everyone put on their bonnets as Alison did the Judging.

The last of our Easter treats before the long weekend is the Easter Egg Hunt in the warm sun shine.

The 23rd was a welcome visit from Alison and her friendly Goats. They love to be fussed over.

In the afternoon Roger entertained us with a fabulous sing along themed around St Georges Day.

The 25th was filled with ovenless baking and games. The residents had a joint activity with Hill Brow where everyone enjoyed the treats with a lovely cup of tea.

The weather was fantastic towards the end of April so it was a great opportunity to get out into the lovely gardens and around the pond to feed the fish.

On the 26th, the crooner Terry sang all of the favourites, which brought smiles to everyone.
