Hill House Activities in March
Our residents at Hill House have enjoyed another month of varied and stimulating activities. March’s theme was the celebration of spring. We also celebrated St David’s and St Patrick’s Day, and Mothering Sunday. Here are just a few of the things residents enjoyed:
On the 4th of March we had Singing for the Brain with Barbara Raynor. This month Barbara themed the songs for St Patrick’s Day with lots of traditional Irish folk songs and dancing. After the singing residents enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea.
Mothering Sunday was celebrated on the 15th March. Crondall Church Group lead by Vicar Tara helped to celebrate the day with our residents with special Mother’s Day Songs of Praise.
St Patrick’s Day was celebrated by an Irish themed lunch which included Irish Stew followed by Irish Barmbrack washed down with a shot of Irish whiskey or Guinness. This was followed by an afternoon of Irish folk songs performed by Roger O’Connell.
In the last week of March residents also enjoyed an outing to Redfields Garden Centre; a visit by the King Singers, as well as poetry, skittles, dominoes, regular quizzes and preparations for the Easter bonnet parade.
