Notting Hill Carnival Week

This week we celebrated and learnt about Notting Hill Carnival.  Residents enjoyed making carnival masks. They made a Jamaican rum and pineapple cake, reminisced about carnivals they had been to and participated in carnival and Caribbean themed quizzes.

Outing

This week some of our residents went on a lovely trip out to Squires Garden Centre. They enjoyed a morning looking round and seeing all the beautiful plants and seeing the animals and fish in the pet department.

Perfect company, perfect outing!

Dancing

Lots of dancing this week in the spirit of Notting Hill Carnival, celebrating movement, great music and the joy of keeping active!

Wine Tasting

On Monday we had a fun and educational afternoon, tasting and learning about different wines with volunteer Alan!

Live Music

A wonderful afternoon of live music on Friday with singer and pianist Philippa.

Baking

In honour of Notting Hill Carnival, we brought the taste of Jamaica to our baking! We enjoy baking together, sharing laughter and creating delicious new memories along the way. A wonderful way to celebrate culture, community and togetherness.

What a wonderfully busy week we’ve had! There really has been something for everyone to enjoy, from relaxing with a crossword and spending time in the garden to a little friendly competition with a game of skittles. We’ve also enjoyed getting creative with some flower arranging, filling the week with colour, laughter and plenty of opportunities to spend time together.
