The Jonti Duo came to entertain us at the beginning of the month. They are definitely a favourite among the residents, with fun dance routines to go along with their up beat songs.

The Dominoes Club were in fine spirits on Friday the 2nd of August with visiting family joining in on the game.

The residents had some of their regular 121 time with their carers in the morning of the 5th. This is such an important time for both the resident and the carer to spend quality time together.

In the afternoon we had the very friendly puppy came around as part of the pet therapy team. He brought a lot of smiles as he went round the home.

On Tuesday the 6th, as part of our reminiscing Hour we made paper aeroplanes. It was good fun to see them whizz around the lounge.


We also played some white board games. This one was a word search game and we did some puzzles too.

As our Annual Garden Party was coming up on the 10th and the theme was Disney, we incorporate the theme into our activities. We had Disney Musical bingo and Disney sing along.

On the 8th we started our preparations in earnest with the labelling up the tombola prizes with numbers ending 0 and 5. Friends and family have been very generous with some lovely prizes for the stalls.

Louis came and played the piano for us in the afternoon. We all joined in with singing along.

On Friday the 9th our friends from Woodlands and Hill Brow joined us for a show by our favourite crooner Terry Owens.

Hill Brow with the support of Hill House hosted the Annual Garden Party to raise funds for a charity close to our hearts Families Supporting Care. It was very well supported by residents, staff, friends and family and over £2000 was raised with Tombola, face painting etc.

We had our weekly flower arranging group on Tuesday the 13th of August. Every week we receive lovely, fragrant fresh flowers to arrange and place around the home.

On Wednesday the 14th the exercise we choose was skittles with a twist. We play for points and the winner gets a little sweetie prize.

The Gardening Club got together on the 15th to plant some herbs. These will be placed on the window sill so we can watch them sprout and grow.

Board games and puzzles were the order of the day in the afternoon. With a variety to choose from.

We had an outing to the Wyvern on Friday the 16th in the morning. We had a good natter over a tipple of our choice and a packet of crisps.

Gareth came to sing for us in the afternoon in the main lounge at Hill House. Some of us couldn’t resist a dance.

We continued with our scrapbooking on Monday the 19th. Everyone gets involved and they are looking really good now.

On Tuesday the 20th we played balloon bounce in the morning which can be a little competitive but always good fun.

Our Cookery Club on Wednesday the 21st made Pizzas with their choices of toppings.

We played card games in the afternoon, which was a good opportunity to chat.

Bagshot Lea garden centre with friends from Woodlands was our outing on Friday the 23rd.
We had a wonder around the pet section and the plants and flowers before going to their light and airy café for cake and a cuppa.

In the afternoon Emma came to entertain us with a wide range of old favourites.

As a celebration of the Notting Hill Carnival we made Carnival Masks in our Arts and Crafts group.

The E. L. M. A. was the clue for our word search on the 27th August. We did very well and finding words.

As part of our Activities we played the “What is missing game”, where there are a selection of items on a tray and one is removed.

The weather is still lovely and warm and we try to get out into the beautiful Gardens as much as possible. The 29th was the perfect day for it.

David came to sing and play guitar us on the 30th. He is very animated when he sings and encourages us all to join in.
