We started our Monday, by ending the previous week’s celebrations of the King’s Coronation with our incredible King’s Coronation concert, this was an afternoon to never forget, we welcomed our families and loved ones to join us.
A scrumptious BBQ and nobody let the rain dampen their spirits, we all partied the afternoon away indoors.
The concert featured a variety of acts: Adison on Violin, Lin’s saxophone playing, Woodlands &Hillbrow Dementia Choir and Out of The Shadows band.
Tuesday our day lounge prepped ahead of the upcoming dog show, we made dog friendly pup cakes.
This themed twist to our cooking club activity brought much excitement about meeting the dogs for the annual dog show, chatting about dogs and pets we have owned in the past.
Our garden view lounge explored the dazzling world of our interactive Omi games, projected onto the floor we danced to the music and popped the bubbles that floated around.
Alternatively, we arranged these stunning flowers into vases to display in the home or, took part in therapeutic colouring activities.
Wednesday, we hosted our annual dog show, we cheered on the dogs as they paraded in front of the judges table and performed tricks.
Then while the judges deliberated, residents enjoyed lots of cuddles with the four-legged friends before prizes were handed out.
Well done to the winners, best in show Poppy, waggiest tail Elvis, loveliest lady Tinkerbell, fabulous fella Wally, sweetest pup Lyra and golden oldie Poppy, and a big thank you to our Judges.
Thursday as pet week continued across the home, we were delighted to welcome our pygmy goats into the home for a fabulous morning of pet therapy.
Friday morning, we attended our monthly residents meeting. Our new staff and residents were all welcomed and our staff awarded with our prestigious “Sunflower Awards” for all the love and care they show and provide.
That afternoon we welcomed Tony, for a cabaret performance, we love his jokes, singing and he makes us all laugh.
Saturday, we engaged in a new tetras themed game, this tested our brain and helps increase our short term memory and reaction times all while problem solving.
Sunday, we took on a group giant jigsaw puzzle, others watched live stream church services on the tv and iPad.
