The week kicked off with an exciting round of Wild West bingo on Monday morning, as we gathered with our friends for a lively game.

Our Garden view lounge was the perfect setting for a lively game of tin can alley, where we all competed to see who could achieve the highest score. Laughter filled the air as we took turns aiming and knocking down the cans, each of us determined to come out on top. The friendly competition added an extra layer of excitement to our gathering, making it a memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

The gathering at the wild west-themed piano tea party was a delightful affair, where everyone sported their finest cowboy hats to set the mood just right. Surrounded by friends, we savoured the delicious tea and cakes while being serenaded by the beautiful melodies of the piano music filling the air.

On Tuesday, we enjoyed a lively game of balloon tennis in the lounge overlooking our beautiful garden. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as we bounced the balloon back and forth, trying to keep it from touching the ground Laughter filled the room as we chased after the balloon, trying to outmanoeuvre each other in this fun and energetic game.

On Wednesday, we meticulously placed beautiful flowers into various vases throughout Hill House, ensuring each stem was trimmed and pruned to perfection before arranging them in the vases. The vibrant colours and fragrant scents filled the rooms, creating a welcoming and refreshing atmosphere for all who entered.

Every week, our music therapy sessions have become a beloved tradition at Hill House. The Garden view lounge is always filled with joy as we gather for our group sessions, where we come together to sing and play instruments. The sense of community and togetherness is truly heart-warming.

Additionally, our smaller, more intimate group provides a special opportunity for those on their dementia journey to connect through the power of music. It’s amazing to witness the positive impact that these sessions have on everyone involved.

During our culinary workshop with Chef Steve, we eagerly delved into the art of preparing a hearty Cowboy casserole and baking delicious cornbread.

The hands-on experience allowed us to learn the intricacies of seasoning, simmering, and baking, as well as the importance of using fresh, quality ingredients. Under the guidance of chef Steve, we honed our cooking skills and gained a deeper appreciation for the flavours and techniques involved in creating these classic Western dishes.

Our weekly concerts and entertainment are something we truly cherish. We eagerly anticipate the diverse range of singers and performances that are arranged for us, and there’s nothing quite like being part of the experience.

On Friday, we engaged in a variety of activities that are essential to our daily routine and personal interests. From knitting to assisting with household chores like laundry, these tasks are tailored to our individual preferences and needs, allowing us to uphold our autonomy and enhance our overall well-being.

Inviting our friends over for lunch is always a delightful experience, especially when the sun is shining down on us as we gather in the garden to enjoy our meal together. It’s a wonderful opportunity to catch up, share stories, and simply bask in each other’s company amidst the beauty of nature.

Under the brilliant sun, we enjoyed a lively game of indoor bowls with a big group.

On Saturday, our cherished PAT dog Tinkerbell made her rounds in the home, spreading her soothing presence to everyone she encountered.

Throughout the day, a wide range of games brought joy to everyone, starting from engaging whiteboard word games to an exciting round of dominoes that kept everyone entertained.

The cowboy-themed cart, manned by our skilled rodeo cowboys, made its way around Hill House, delighting everyone with a variety of treats tailored to suit the cowboy lifestyle.

From savoury snacks to sweet indulgences, our cowboys served up a range of delicious options, ensuring that everyone got a taste of the Wild West. The atmosphere was lively and fun, with the cowboys adding to the excitement as they interacted with the crowd, making the experience truly memorable for all.

On Sunday, we decided to take a stroll through the gardens surrounding Hill House, marvelling at the array of vibrant flowers and lush greenery that surrounded us. However, what truly caught our attention and left us in awe were the flourishing grape vines that seemed to stretch endlessly.
