We had a roaring week at Hill House as we enjoyed the thrill of the Farnborough Airshow. There were lots of aviation-themed activities and residents watched live coverage of the airshow on TV as well as spending time out in the garden spotting the aircraft as they flew overhead. A trip to the Gloster pub in Farnborough on Wednesday gave us a fantastic chance to see the planes up close.
We started the week with a group word search whiteboard game, making as many words as we could from the letters in Farnborough Airshow.
In our garden view lounge, we challenged each other to a game of skittles.

Residents in the main lounge on Tuesday morning exercised their minds with a game of floor trivial pursuit while those in the garden view lounges carefully folded paper planes trying to build one that flew the best and reminisced about making paper planes as children.
The Knit and Natter club got together on Tuesday afternoon.
On Wednesday a group of residents went to the Gloster Pub in Farnborough for lunch and a pint and to experience the thrill of the airshow planes as they flew overhead.

Thursday’s flower arranging club took place in the garden view lounge this week, filling the lounge with an array of beautiful colours.
The amazing Emily came to perform for us on Thursday afternoon filling the lounge with music laughter and getting lots of us up and dancing the afternoon away.

Friday afternoon was exercise time with balloon tennis exercise across all lounges and the group physiotherapy session.
On Saturday residents watched the Olympics and enjoyed a treat from the sweet trolly as it made its way around the home
Our dementia friendly church service and hymn sing-along on Sunday morning had lots of us, up and dancing and singing away.
Celebrating Beatrix Potter’s birthday on Sunday afternoon with a group social in the garden, chatting about our favourite Beatrix books and doing a bit of therapeutic colouring.
