On Monday morning in the garden view lounge, we expressed ourselves through the medium of watercolour with some autumnal painting. Meanwhile, on the ground floor, we were blown away by the images on the Omni-Interactive projector.
Meanwhile, in the main lounge, we had fun making fat balls from scratch to stock the bird feeders. It was good to know we’d done our bit to take care of the birds over the cold winter months.
In the afternoon, those of us in the garden view lounge baked some braided bread. We love getting our hands dirty, and it was satisfying to make something we could eat afterwards.
In the main lounge, some of us were invited to a tea party with Shabana, our Home Manager. She holds these tea parties regularly, as an opportunity to get some individual time with each of us.
On Tuesday morning, we competed against one another in a game of bowls.
Meanwhile in the garden view lounge, we were holding a riveting instalment of book club. We flicked through our own books and commented on their contents.
In the afternoon, we joined residents from all four homes in the Hill Brow group for our fortnightly choir rehearsal. It is always uplifting to sing our favourite songs as one united group.
On Wednesday morning in the main lounge, we worked together on a special craft. We created an autumnal community tree with leaves made from our handprints!
In the afternoon in garden view lounge, Gabrielle came to provide some music therapy. This is always a highlight, as we can sing, dance, and play instruments.
On Thursday morning, we had a resident’s meeting. In these meetings, we discuss the day to day running of our home and hear news of upcoming developments. We give our feedback in these meetings and enjoy a choice of refreshments and cakes.
That afternoon, we all came together to see a live performance in the main lounge. The entertainer was brilliant, and we loved his guitar playing.
On Friday, some of us went out on a trip to Squires for a social coffee morning. We enjoyed a delicious slice of cake accompanied by our preferred hot drinks.
In the afternoon, we rolled up our sleeves and got baking! We made harvest loaves by following a simple bread recipe, braiding the dough. It was fun to knead the dough and each make our own little roll.
On Saturday, we were audience to a brilliant live singer. She was energetic and fun, it was great to sing along and dance to some stunning live music.
On Sunday morning, we had a lively and musical dementia friendly church service in garden view lounge.
In the afternoon, some of us participated in the knit and natter club. Meanwhile, one of us celebrated their birthday with his family and a cake baked specially for him by our wonderful chef.
