On Monday, we were all treated to a visit from the home’s very own therapy dog, Tinkerbell. She loves getting lots of cuddles all day, and we love the opportunity to pat her and give her treats.

On Tuesday, we were thrilled to meet even more animal friends! We got to say hello to guinea pigs, rabbits, and even chickens!

In the afternoon, Steve came and presented a Chef’s Table interactive cooking demonstration. We all did our part in preparing the ingredients, as Steve talked us through the process of making a Daal from scratch.

On Wednesday morning, there was flower arranging in the garden view lounge. We love arranging the colourful plants into beautiful decorations that we can then adorn our living space with. The smells and textures take us back to memories from our own gardens.

In the afternoon, we had a music therapy session. The interactive musical experience is unique in its effect on our mood and well-being. We love playing the instruments, singing the songs, and doing it all together as a group.

On Thursday morning in the main lounge, Louise came and helped us with our flower arranging. We were really chuffed with the resulting arrangements and placed them around the lounge to add a splash of colour to the space.

In the afternoon, a live singer came in to perform for us in our very own living room! He sang a variety of classic tunes which we all sang along to.

On Friday morning, we had another Chefs Table interactive cooking experience. This time, Steve taught us how to make a delicious curry. Once we had finished, we sat down together and had it for lunch.

Meanwhile, some of us went out to Squires garden centre, where we enjoyed browsing the seasonal offerings and admiring their large collection of animals. We also had a lovely piece of lemon drizzle cake with teas and coffees.

On Saturday in the main lounge, we all got together to work on a giant crossword. These puzzles can be challenging, but between us we were able to guess answers to all of the clues!

On Sunday, Caroline joined us to lead the dementia-friendly church service. These services are comprised mostly of music that we can sing and dance to, interspersed with short bible readings.
